It's interesting to note just how many offerings are available concerning gaming headsets that currently exist on the market to date. We've gone from a limited variety to a plethora (and yes...that is a very fitting use of that word) of choices in gaming headsets. When it comes to reviews for headsets, you the reader, must be very careful, considerate and mindful about what you're reading, because the likes and dislikes of a particular headset are COMPLETELY subjective. Why do I say that? I will tell you exactly why: Personal Preference. Why does it really come down to those two little words? I will tell you exactly why: The success or failure of a particular gaming headset is, largely, up to the individuals expectations and what that person has determined to be their comfort zone concerning 3 things: 1) Quality, 2) Engineering and 3) Wireless or Wired.Frankly, I'm surprised that we still have the huge amount of gaming headset offerings that we do, but it still comes down to those two little words: Personal Preference. And that, my friends, is why it is very difficult to write a considerate and constructive review for a gaming headset. On that note, let's make one more distinction. There is a difference between audio/music headphones and a gaming headset. Yes, yes! I know that many reading this already know that differentiating fact. That info is not for those in the know, but rather for those that are just getting into gaming and need to hear/read from those that are seasoned gamers. It's a part of sharing knowledge that we need to be willing to do for those that are new to gaming. Very, very rarely do we see an audio device that can "Cross" perform successfully between listening to music and playing a game and still deliver the listening experience that we desire. While it is true that, for the most part, audio devices can do this that is NOT the point. The point is that you'll noticeably lose that discernible something in the audio experience when you use a pair of music headphones for gaming and vice-versa. Furthermore, there is typically a physical distinction between a pair of music headphones and a gaming headset in the form of a microphone, be it a boom type or built in, which is included on 98% of gaming headsets on the market. The Tritton Kama headset arrived packed in a sturdy cardboard box with all of the typical product information printed on the outside. It is specified to work with the PS4 and the PSVita. Now, you may all be wondering what other platforms this headset will work with. Let me list those for you:PS3: Untested - This platform is slated to be tested with the Tritton Kama within the month.PS4: Works - Flawlessly!PSVita: Works - Flawlessly!Xbox 360: Does Not Work (Wrong connector type)Xbox One: Does Not WorkSmartphones: Works - Flawlessly! (Tested on 5 different smartphone devices: Apple iPhone, Samsung, Motorolla, HTC and Nokia.)Tablets: Works - Flawlessly! (Tested on 4 different tablet devices: Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble Nook.)PC & Laptops: Works - Flawlessly! (Tested on both a gaming desktop and a gaming laptop) ** Note ** Please allow me to vent a little about some reviewers misconception about computer compatibility here. There have been some Amazon product reviewers who have incorrectly advised prospective shoppers looking to buy this gaming headset by falsely claiming that this product does not work with PC's or laptops. That, ladies and gentleman, is absolutely incorrect information. This headset WILL work with PC's and laptops. Because this headset has a short 3.5mm audio cable, you may need to purchase an 3.5mm audio extension cable (make sure, though, that the cable will support 3-pole connections). Additionally, I tested this gaming headset on both my gaming desktop and gaming laptop using 3 audio output sources:1. Internal Sound Card (A sound card which is installed as an add-on computer component)2. External Sound Card (A sound card which is housed in a plastic encasement and connected to a computer using either a USB cable or TosLink Fibre Optic cable)3. On-board Sound Card (A sound card which is integrated onto a computer motherboard)Folks, all 3 audio sources worked flawlessly for both game sound and voice chat. Please, disregard all nay-sayers stating that this gaming headset doesn't work on computers. It Absolutely Does Work On PC's and Laptops! The sound quality I experienced was at a level I certainly didn't expect. When I first saw this headset, it was at a local Gamestop on demo display. I thought I'd try it out and was very impressed, but skeptical that maybe they had tweaked the audio to make it sound better than under normal operational standards. I found this headset here on Amazon and they were listed cheaper...by $10...so, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity. I ordered the Tritton Kama gaming headset the same day. After the headset arrived, I immediately started testing. I was very impressed indeed! This headsets sound quality was just as it was when I tried the demo product at Gamestop. Very impressed! Good solid bass, good lows and highs! This headset doesn't sport surround sound, it's just not made for it. However, the Tritton Kama gaming headset is so good that I can't positively say that it needs surround sound. I buy gaming equipment and write reviews for them. Keyboards, mice, gaming headsets, gamepads, joysticks, flight controls, driving wheels, blah, blah, blah. Some of gaming equipment I've purchased range from awesome to absolute failures. To say that I own many, many gaming headsets would be an understatement. Some are just straight stereo, while others are circumaural, supra-aural simulated 5.1 & 7.1 surround sound, while others are full 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound gaming headsets. The Tritton Kama gaming headset is a REAL contender when it comes to gaming equipment. Now, I know it's priced on the low side, but it's not low quality. The stereo sound is very good and the build quality is solid. You'll read reviews from people that will write about a gaming headset and complain that their headsets fell apart or broke. That's just crap, folks! If you take good care of your equipment and treat it right, it will last a long time. If you're interested, I currently own over 30 gaming headsets and none of which have ever broken or fallen apart. Ever! Even after all of the extensive testing and hundreds of hours consumed playing games, listening to music and watching movies just to write a review and be as unbiased and objective as I can possibly be, none of those 30+ gaming headsets EVER broke or fell apart. The Tritton Kama gaming headset comfort level is acceptable right out of the box. A little tight due to newness, but will loosen up a bit over time. The headband is adjustable and sports very welcoming cushioning for the top of the head. The headphones rest on the ears and sport some nice comfortable cushioning wrapped in soft pseudo-leather. This will get a bit warm, but my ears have not experienced any profuse sweating from it. The headphones will swivel 180 degrees to help make the headset as mobile as possible. That said, I would have paid a little more just to have carry pouch included in the final product. But it's just as good all the same. The summation is simply this: The Tritton Kama gaming headset is a good quality piece of gaming equipment that sports nice comfort, very impressive sound and even more impressive utility in regard to platform access that you can experience for yourself, all for the small sum of $30 plus tax and shipping. If you should have any questions, please let me know so that I can provide you the very best answers you seek.My favorite headset for the price. Have loved this brand for yearsSide by side comparison of the Tritton Trigger, and this product, the Tritton Kama. I could not find any flaw within sound quality, the Tritton Kama delivers in both speaker and mic performance for online gaming. The Tritton Trigger is around 2 years older than this product and dawned at around double this products current price, but these facts aside the very important detail that I've put some emphasis on in the image presented is the cushion difference. The Tritton Trigger was designed to be used as a gaming headset for people all of ages, whereas the Kama was designed for 14< as presented by the microscopic cushion holes. I can barely fit my thumb within what is meant to fit an entire human ear, It's very likely this headset works perfectly for younger and smaller people but an average sized ear will not fit within the Kama without severe discomfort or outright breaking the cushions.3/5 Product likely works well for target audience, however it does not present this target audience anywhere in description. If you are buying this as a gift for a kid, it's a good price and good quality. If you are buying this for an adult make sure the adult in question has much smaller than average ears or they will have no means to use this product. As of writing this review I've returned mine, if I find a more suitable replacement for the Tritton Trigger I may update this review to list it for other fans of the core Tritton products.Hello there,I bought this headset about a month ago to replace my Turtle Beach headset. While my TB headset still works, it emits a weird buzzing sound when a chat cable is plugged into it.Being a Twitch streamer, this is not good for streams/recorded videos on Youtube. This headset does not emit any kind of weird buzzing sound. It plugs directly into the PS4 controller and after tweaking the settings a bit in the PS4 menus, it works like a charm. There are several things that I'd like to point out though that I wish I could change about the headset.First, all the sound from the tv is silenced when plugging this headset into the controller. All audio comes through the headset. You can change is so that only chat comes through the headset but then the audio from the tv comes through the tv's speakers. I can not find a way to change this option so I do not think there is any way to change it. I like some audio to come from my tv but must use my Turtle Beach headset for that to happen. The other thing I do not like about the headset is while it is a sturdy piece of equipment, it is small. The ear pads sit directly on your ears instead of covering your ears like a TB headset would. This does not disrupt ambience at all but this headset does tend to squeeze your head a bit. After about 2 hours, I take this thing off and immediately feel the pressure lift. All in all it's a great headset. Well worth the money and it makes my Twitch streaming better without any annoying buzzing sound. As you get what you pay for when it comes to technology, it would be fair to assume that this headset is useless as it doesn't cost a fortune. But you'd be wrong. Now it isn't going to make you go wow! As there are definitely better and more expensive options available to you, but this headset for a start features a movable microphone which many headsets in this price range simply don't do. The sound quality isn't market leading but it is certainly an big improvement on using standard ear buds.Durability wise they are like anything else in this price range, look after them and they'll look after you, they do lack in ruggedness and durability, although if you treat them right they'll last you just fine. The headset is adjustable as well, however the sliders are plastic so please take it easy when moving them to fit.Overall I'm very happy with these.Had these since the PS4 first released and never had a single problem with them. They're a great price and incredibly easy to use. All you have to do is connect them to your controller and you're good to go. It's worth going into your PS4 settings to play around with the audio settings, but that's pretty normal for a new headset. You can choose to have only the party chat audio come through (in which case, just be aware that the sound only comes through the left side if you choose this option), or you can have all of the audio (game and chat) come through both sides, which sounds amazing. Everything is always crystal clear, and they're great for ignoring the outside world if you want to get really immersed in your gaming experience. Also, be aware of how you adjust them on your head because after a while they can hurt the tops of your ears if not placed comfortably. For this reason, and the party chat audio only coming through one side, I give these 4/5 stars. They cost under £15. Considering this, these are pretty good. Kids use them and like them, I think they're probably slightly better suited to people with smaller heads as they do press a little on the ears but I've found them to be fine for an hour or so. They work pretty well, sounds is good, mic works, others can hear you clearly. These are the 2nd ones I've bought (two separate uses and the first set going strong after a year or so).Basically, if you're really into gaming or top notch audio, you'll likely have another budget and completely different set of needs in mind anyway, but these work well for the casual gamer or indeed using them for calls. If they were £30 I'd say they're okay, but at the current price they're nudging towards absolute bargain.Really impressed with these. Only used them a few nights, but the sound quality is really good. Playing GTA V and listening to spotify via my PS4 is really good. Note used the mic yet but very happy with the rest..** Update after 6 months **Well after 6 months and a few fairly lengthy Fallout 4 sessions I'm still fairly happy with these but I find that after a couple of hours of gaming, they make the tops and bottoms of my ears ache to the point where I have to stop using them. Maybe my ears are just a little too big for them.Perfect product. Excellent for the price. I've had £20 Headsets and £100 headsets. My cheaper pairs have always disappointed but this is comftorable, light and well balanced with sound. Of course, Its not as well balanced and clear as turtlebeach headsets, but I'm not willing to pay the difference.Would 100% recommend its money well spent. Had since the start of june. its now the start of September, still in perfect condition. It also looks nice as well, and doesn't look cheap. This product would receive 5* it just doesnt because I don't want anyone to be misled and think theyre getting the high end product for next to nothing.
