I was so excited when this came, I used to Play super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64 that game brought up good memories. This is my chance to take a look at the other two, but I was very excited to play super Mario 64 again.My son plays this game a lot and simply loves it! Great purchase!Got it in 2 days, everything worksIt was really fun. Great gamesCame in with no cracks or tears and the game plays just fineThe games here are phenomenal, but unfortunately I got shipped a version of the game for Europe instead of the US version :(Fast service and great classic gameAlthough these Are awesome to play, there was a lost in translation . The charm isn’t all the way there and it does feel like a half a** port .This game will only be available for 6 months which is extremely anti-consuner. Also, Super Mario 64 is not in full screen. The graphics on all 3 games have barely had any noticeable changes and there's next to no extra content. A very lazy cash grab by Nintendo.I recently found my old N64 in the attic and plugged it into my large flat screen TV, the original N64 was made for much much smaller screens …it looked terrible. So I can attest to recent 1st hand experience that they have smooshed the graphics and it looks great on a big flat screen TV. Sunshine looks incredible but the GC was so ahead of it’s time (GC emulators are very thin on the ground and need a pretty powerful PC to run) Galaxy looks the same (it wasn’t that long ago) …BUT lets talk changes (and the no changes)…Not changed: The camera on Mario64 still sucks balls, it was always dreadful, I’m sure a Nintendo Elf could have sprinkled some magic code and got the thing to work, but no it still wobbles about managing to always be in exactly the wrong place.Changed: And now the ultimate sin which won’t bother many people so I doubt it will get patched. They have inverted the controls which means they are now ‘normal’ and there is no menu to change. The original Nintendo games always had inverted controls and I think this influenced me in looking for the ‘invert Y’ part of the menu in every game I have played since. I’ve played Sunshine for a while now and I am okay with the controls until I’m under pressure then muscle memory kicks in and I’m squirting water at the floor. So please Nintendo I love you please can I have a ‘invert Y’ in the menu (put it in the one on the – button so you won’t have to do any fancy design)They are stone cold classic games Mario 64 despite the camera is one of my favourite games of all time and it plays will on the switch. Sunshine looks incredible and is just as unrelentingly tough as I remember (those void levels are pure rage quit inducing evil ..but fun). TBH I’ve not played Galaxy other than opening up the 1st galaxy just to have a look as it didn’t have the same nostalgic pull as the other 2. It’s a good enough port, it’s a shame they didn’t fix more than bad grammar (They have got rid of the charming SHINE GET! Why?) and inappropriate language (so long gay Bowser)If they patch the inverted controls I’ll give it 5!Super Mario 3D All Stars is a fantastic compilation of Mario's first 3 mainline adventures. From Super Mario 64 for the 1996 Nintendo 64 console to Super Mario Galaxy on the 2006 Wii console. If you'd like to play these classics in all their glory on "official" hardware, go for this collection.Pros:-It's Mario!-There are 3 games, which total to just over 95 HOURS of content, if you intend to complete each title to completion (i.e all the stars, extra levels etc.)-These are graphically enchanced and have new controls that use joy-cons to their fullest.-The latest and official way to play these titlesCons:-It's expensive at 44.99 (but you ARE paying for the Mario and Nintendo brand)-It's limited until March 2021, so if you want the title, you need to get it quickly, or pay the same price for the digital copy on the eShop.-The titles are emulated, meaning they're not newly created ports, they're run from an emulator within the cartridge, so if you're someone who has a computer and likes emulation, may as well just use an emulator to play these titles, which can sometimes be better, depending on what sort of experience you want-The controls can be awkward, and the controls and camera for Super Mario 64 are VERY outdated, which may frustrate newer and younger players.In short, it's an amazing collection which you can take on the go, and has so much content that I think is definitely worth the price, but you need to grab it quickly if you want to play it, as this is a limited release which ends in March 2021.I really love Nintendo and pretty much all the direct games.However the controls on this are horrible I spent so much time trying to use the gun in sunshine with doesn't use any gyro controls making it extremely hard to control where you need to hit. Even with the pro controller with no gyro its awful.Update ive now given up trying to play this as it's near impossible more of a headache than a joy I will be returning it.Mario 64 again really disappointed with it all im going to say on that one.As for Mario Galaxy at least they added the gyro controls to make playing the game easier.Even with the pro controller it's very difficult to use and jarring if using the touch screen even, even with the gyro controls enabled.Best way to play is using the Joy cons for this one.This game by far beats the others in looks and controls but Nintendo this was a lazy release where is galaxy 2 ?I hope they update the game to include gyro controls within sunshine at least.I was looking forward to this but unfortunately its been a big let down.Would I recommend it in all honesty if you have played the games in the past then save your money.If you really liked galaxy and want to replay then go ahead but its not worth the price for emulated games.Pretty much was a cash grab, no booklets nothing in the box for the anniversary of mario just the cartridge that's very lazy underwhelming and just not worth it.As for the limited release again its a cash grab Nintendo not impressed you can do much better.I will adjust my review should the game get an update to support easier control's ie gyro on sunshine.Come on Nintendo this is spoiling the fun !You might be wondering why I gave this collection a 1 out of 5. Let me tell you.The three games included are some of the best platformers ever made, but Nintendo didn’t deem it necessary to give this collection the love and care it deserved. SM64 and Sunshine target 30fps, but frequently dip below it. SM64 has worse audio quality than the original version and renders in 4:3 on the Switch screen. Sunshine doesn’t have inverted camera options.This is technically the worst collection I’ve played this side of the current generation. Feels like Nintendo didn’t even try.
