It was '96 and CDs were dominating the market at that time. So this record was originally Mastered for CD. Then the same master was unexpectedly used for an unexpected vinyl run also - to cut production costs i suppose, not sure.This resulted in the unusual situation where the CD sounds better than the wax which got some kind of Dolby (?) noise reduction slapped on it; it is quieter and muted. Also the sound has an unexpected drop-off in volume on the wax starting at the song "Cyclotron".So Buy the CD for best sound in this instance and the wax so that you still appear to be cool with your peers LolTrust me, I'm the guy that mastered this great batch of songs - at least the original CD master ;) - "Mike Rep"
